By Br. James Rodrigues The morning after the Turkey draw a few brothers got together to transport some logs out to a farm property in Amaranth township and cut them up for log splitting. A fellow out there lives in a trailer with a wood burning stove as the only source of heat. He is unable to work due to a heart condition and his only source of income is his government assistance. Br. Rick Rolfe who is also a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society brought this need to the attention of the brother Knights who were at the Christmas in The Park set up. It was also noticed that there was a near by free wood pile of logs from a recently felled tree. The brothers loaded them onto Br. James Rodrigues’ trailer so they could be taken out the following weekend. |
