By Br. Jeffrey Halsall Our council Basketball Free-throw was on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at Saint Andrews Catholic Elementary school in Orangeville. We had about 25 kids come out and participate. They all had a lot of fun and the event ran very smoothly. We also had our finalists go on to the District level Free-throw in Alliston which resulted in three of them now moving on to the regionals! Thank you very much to Brother Peter Gilalfau for running and coordinating tournament! Also, a huge thanks to all the brother Knights who made it out to help! |

Thanks to the eleven Knights who helped with the take down of our Christmas Nativity scene in the park. It was noted that it was much easier than last year when a few inches of ice covered the display. The parts were transported to our storage unit in James Rodrigues’ trailer and tucked away for another year. Several Knights then went to Gerry McCleary's house and loaded donated fire wood into James’ trailer and transported it to Amaranth to help keep a needy man who has no heating other than a wood stove. We were faced with obstacles in accessing the wood but miraculously these barriers were removed so we could complete our work. We will keep this man from freezing this winter. There are those who fall through the cracks of the social service net. |
