By Br. James Rodrigues On the evening of December 5th about 120 guests and fellow brother Knights gathered in the St. Timothy parish hall for our 29th annual Turkey Draw. This is our council’s longest running fund raiser. The new format that was begun last year was refined a bit further this year along with a significant increase in the number of turkeys. All together there were 60 hams and turkeys given away during the final draw of the evening. The biggest turkey on hand that evening was Br. Doug Chaisson who turned up in a full turkey costume for the final draw. His antics amused the crowd while he ground his way through 60 winners from the ticket drum. Members of the Scotiabank staff were in attendance offering their support. The Scotiabank will match funds raised at the event. This year Br. Rob Rice was the event chair. Rob was quick to thank all the bothers who helped out planning and executing the event. The council extends our thanks to Br. Rob for all of his efforts to pull off another successful Turkey Draw. |
